We have two Beavers groups – Willow Creek and Fire River which meet on Wednesdays and Fridays. Our Beavers leader is Mary, with Siobhan and Andy as assistant leaders at Willow Creek and Charlotte, Sarah, Evee and Alex who are just starting out as adult leaders.
2012 has once again been a busy year for our two Beaver Colonies. During the year we have completed the creative, outdoors & promise challenges and many of the Beavers also gained air activities, animal friend & hobbies badges. We also completed the following staged activity badges – hikes 1 & 5, emergency aid 1 and nights away 1 for all Beavers who attended family camp with 1st Whiteley.
During the year 14 children completed the Beaver Scout Bronze Award, the highest award a Beaver can gain before moving on to Cubs. We took part in numerous District & County events including St George’s Day Parade in Warsash, Jubilee Party in Stubbington, Legoland, Remembrance Day Parade and a visit to Paulton’s Park to see Santa.
Our programme of activities has continued to be varied and has included torch walk, junk modelling, talent show, den building, lego car racing, pond dipping, tracks and trails,
crabbing, crazy golf, circuit training and cooking.
We are looking forward to going to explosion! the museum of naval firepower very soon.
